Kids in the US still wouldn't get in trouble for that unless they were at school pointing it at kids or something. Kids can do whatever they want at home
And I teach at a school and if the kids aren't being overly aggressive we just... tell them to stop it. Not exactly the worst trouble a kid can get in.
I have a cousin who would get in trouble for that. He's not allowed to say "gun" or "bullet" he has to say "blaster" and it only shoots "lasers" or "rays"
I did this all the time with all my neighbors... We had about 20 kids on three streets together. We'd wake up at sunrise and stay outside until dusk, I know it sounds cliche but it was very fun

I did this too. We found longer ones and used them as rifles. We all followed my oldest cousin and walked around the backyard woods playing "Soldier". Which involved a lot of "pews" and ducking behind trees.
