I think Audrey Hepburn would have liked to live in a world where NO woman is disrespected for the choices she makes in life. ''Marilyn'', or Norma Jean, had a very difficult childhood. She made the choices she made because she saw no other options, and owned up to what she did. The fame doesn't fucking matter, it's your own happiness that counts. And if Norma and Audrey were happy with the choices they made then the misogynist haters can go fuck themselves.

Yeah, just let people die of overdoses because they thought they were too good. Audrey would love that.
She took the meds because she was depressed. That depression was caused by the media who critised her for what she did, while they simultainously praised her. Women are always praised and scolded for making the choice to show more (or less) of their bodies in the media, and it does no good to scrutinze them any further.

Btw it was an accidental overdose... she was on medication because she had a long history of mental health issues (it seems it ran in the family) stemming back from childhood, she had quite a few stints in mental institutions and the pressures of fame exacerbated her depression and other issues. She married men who were older than her as they were the father figure she was missing in her life but they never worked out for various reasons. She randomly had sexual encounters with strangers in public places as she equated sex with love and used it to make herself feel better and desirable. She was close to her therapist (she saw him as a fatherly figure and she even suggested that he should adopt her). Just before she died she was doing a lot better, her mental state of mind was improving and she was planning on making a comeback. Then she accidentally overdosed on barbiturates and other medication.
they are both beautiful. monroe is in her own amazing because she wanted people to be happy with themselves and to accept how they are. it shouldn't be about how one tried more than the other because people have different circumstances than the other
Marilyn Monroe was actually a talented comedian and a symbol of women using their sexuality as power, not weakness.... but you remember her as blonde stereotype... so there's that.
