I have a Fursona. She's a quadruped, and does not have a fursuit. Let me tell barney the real definition.
Fursonas are a persona, but it's an animal instead. It doesn't generally need to have fur though. People like wolves and cats the most though, dragons coming third. They use it to express themselves through art as an animal, versus another person.
Fursonas are not only for furries, I'm not a furry but I have a fursona. Mainly they're for people that want to show themselves or have a character that is an animal but that doesn't mean they're a furry, or otherkin.
I don't believe mine was rude. I actually have extensive knowledge on the furry fandom and am currently compliant an analytical paper on their culture. I just wanted to break it down for Barney.
I'm not a furry. I do draw cats, and I have had a character since fourth grade. Is that aids to you? I child's creativity? Because I hope not. She has a well thought out story and appearance, but I do have to agree that the character shown above is a bit cringey.
i mean you're literally saying that ur fursona is a child's creation. that ur still clinging on to some childish shit from when u were in 4th grade is pretty cancer
In 4th grade she was very different, so not technically clinging to her but I kept the basic traits. Also, if you have a problem with people who like to draw animals then nobody fucking asked you to stay here.
chilled, i think you're cool. personally I don't have a fursona. I have a fruitsona, and that's banana, but I appreciate how you managed to keep your basic character from the fourth grade to wherever you are now.
I do something similar; I do basic fictional urban cartography. That's right, one of my strongest hobbies is drawing places that don't exist.
And I've been doing this since I was four.
So keep with what you like. I'm glad you're happy.
See, this is the problem. People will insult an art piece, then when the artist gets mad, they claim that the artist "can't take criticism." There is a huge difference between giving someone constructive criticism to help better their work, and just flat out insulting them, especially if the are just a starting artist.
it's not what you dress up as but more one of your characters
it's just basically a Halloween costume that you came up with and you don't use it on Halloween except for if you want to
