I always thought "leave someone do something" is acceptable as well as "leave someone to do something"...? Like the phrase "leave me be" is perfectly okay...

I get the "leave me be" but "leave me do something" doesn't sound right but Idk whatever floats your boat

I'm not a native speaker so idk but I always assumed it's possible to say that because of the structure in "leave me be" or "let me go" etc.
