"Say that “Bestiality Is Wrong” or “Polygamy Is Wrong” and it’s not considered hate speech, but if you have the opinion that “Gay Marriage Is Wrong” the whole world jumps up and down screaming “racism” “bigotry” and “hatred”." -the first paragraph of that article.
gay marriage is different than fucking a dog who doesn't know any better. the polygamy part i can get, but i prefer polyamory since polygamy is strictly men being with more than one women.
But have you ever heard of protest against bigotry? they're not serving straight people because they're using the same system the christian bakers use to deny service to gay weddings to prove a point, which is that "if you get to deny me for being who i am and for who i love, i get to do the same to you for the same reasons"
It would be so much easier to just serve cakes to whomever. you shouldn't use your religion, or sexual orientation to oppress someone. it's pretty simple.

might i have you know, those people were also harassing the cake bakers. this all started over a wedding cake, which at best would only have two names of people of the same gender on it. once again, certain christians are trying to make themselves out to be the good guys by hurting other people
what the christians/website who did this in a way that was hateful. the cake shop owners had every right to do this. they don't want to support hate.
What the actual f*ck? Gee....thanks for the lengthy definition, not sure we have heard this before on FS...or on FB, Twitter, Fox News, CNN, movies, music, probably the weather'person' at some point, protests, rallies....FFS I can keep going.
@lovinowalker: Why would you assume that their motive is "to make themselves out to be the good guys by hurting other people"?
Why can't their motive be as simple as not lending support to a practice that they believe is morally wrong?
This is exactly why we have such a hard time understanding each other. Because we automatically assign other people the worst possible motives, and demonize them because it makes it easier to maintain our disapproval of their actions.
There is a better way, and we have to find it.

If a gay person refused to serve normal people their business would fail since 95% of the population is heterosexual.

heterosexual isn't normal
there is no such thing as normal
what's normal to a spider is chaos for a fly
If a spider fucks a fly it ain't gonna continue its lineage. There IS such a thing as normal; normal is what is natural and what ensures the survival of a species; normal is the way the biggest majority of a given sample behaves; normal is accepting typical human behavior as a fact, and not using moral relativism as a pathetic cop out; and to quote Dr Tolian Soran speaking to Geordi LaForge on Star Trek TNG: "Normal is what everyone else is, and you are not."
instead of making more kids, how about you adopt and keep the world from overpopulating any more than it already is? the earth is already above living capacity.
and if it's natural, then did you know that there is homosexuality in the animal kingdom too? there's quite an amount of it actually. and you know which is the only species that has homophobia? thats right, the human species. so then homophobia shouldn't be normal, because it's not natural. anything, which is most things these days, that isn't natural should be considered abnormal. And did you also know, that back in ancient greece and rome, one of the most evolved and advanced societies at the time, being straight was considered abnormal? it was weird not to be at least bisexual. so there is no thing as normal, you contradicted yourself with the whole "natural" part.
The Greeks and Romans did a lot of shit that isn't normal, and wasn't then either. And, I might add, there are reasons their civilizations went to shit.
Unless you are drastically older than I assume you are and were actually there, I'll trust my history lessons on just how they lived, thank you.

I disagree. When something is "the norm" it means it's the majority. So being gay techinically isn't normal. But why is that an insult to you? Congrats you're not normal. Nice. Is that offensive? Nobody is calling you retarded. Nobody is being offensive. Ot simply means your sexual preference isn't the norm, it's a rarity.
Absolutely correct. Too many people take too much offence at too many inoffensive things. No, homosexuality isn't "normal", and technically it is deviant behavior, but that statement in and of itself isn't an insult and certainly shouldn't offend anyone except tumblrs.
Besides, who in Hell wants to be normal? Normal people scare me.
Yes. Yes, a gay shop owner would decline service to someone.
Apparently they do fuck assholes.
