One of the few good things about being dyslexic, when I take a time test I don't get timed I have all the time I need to finish the test. I once took a standardized test for the state and we were told we only get an hour. I had no limit and got to finish it the next day.

I had a friend in elementary school who was dyslexic but whenever we took tests, she was timed but she had a scribe to read and write for her. She just told them what to write and she typically got at least an extra half hour compared to the rest of us.

She was lucky enough to get help. I went to schools where I was lucky to get a study hall to go to when I really needed help but it was just a quiet place to try to do the work. The most real help I ever got was a half hour class in 3rd-6th grade in elementary school and one class period in every grade from 7th grade up. So I was always on my own. I was even "asked" to take 2 hours off on days we had state test that where on reading, writing, and spelling. I say asked because I was actually banned from campus because if I was registered in class I had to take the test which was not dyslexic friendly and I most likely fail which brings down test scores and takes away money from the school.

I'm also dyslexic (pretty low on the spectrum though) and I only got 15 minute extra but I don't use it cause it takes SO long to get all the papers and stuff done

I have ADHD and I'm allowed 1.5 the normal time allowed to take the exam.
