In all fairness for 11th grade (I'd guess APUSH) the point is to understand the cartoon... failing could be harsh (depending on the worth of the assignment/time given) but like part of the question is interpretation of the prompt
Ok, no offense to anyone here, but just because YOU had a shitty school life doesn't mean school and teahers are shitty also. I know I will be argued with, but school is important in order for you to get through life, no matter how many "mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell" jokes I see. I know these teachers this guy had were shit, but that doesn't mean the entire system is there to keep you shut up, so STOP COMPLAINING.
Sorry for long rant

I've had plenty of shitty teachers, and yeah, they were sometimes this bad, but then there were all the great teachers that inspired me to excel in my subject, to go above and beyond. They are the reason I've gotten this far and to hell with the bad teachers. Why would I listen to them when all they want to do is make themselves look good and not to teach. I'll listen to the teachers that want us to learn.
No offence but, it is a little ironic that the post was about embracing yourself and not silently falling in line, to only be followed up by an angry comment about how said person should shut up and fall in line.
Everyone has different experiences, no one is saying school should be banned, chill.
If anything it should be about filtering out garbage teachers, and taking a closer look at teachers with tenure.
It would be a very boring world if we all only assumed your position on everything.
(Also sorry for the long rant)
Who said I was telling them to get back into line? I made sure to state that what the teachers did was wrong, nobody has the right to do that to kids, that's idiotic. I was saying that just because he had a shitty school run doesn't mean all teachers are like that, and it certainly doesn't mean school is trying to force you to stay in line and shut up.
I hope that helps clear things up man ;)
Who said I had a good school life?
...ok, I had an ok school life, but I was bullied from kindergarten to grade 6, and I've dealt with some shit teachers before. Either way, I do understand that not everyone has had a good school life like me, I'm trying to speak for the whole system, not just for one

Public education is flawed, I'm sending my kids to private school.
Always got in trouble in school for reading ahead, instead of just reading the one or two pages, because we weren't allowed to have the assignment for it until everyone was done reading...
My English teacher got mad at me for reading a book in English because I was done with an assignment before everyone else. The same happened to a classmate, and he asked her "What are we supposed to do, stare at the wall?" to which she replied "Yes!"
Sad thing is I went to a selective high school, and I thought learning ahead would be encouraged, not repressed.
The only good teacher I ever had was my fourth and fifth grade teacher. After that, so far, they've all been shitty, minus a few less shitty ones. My Graphic Design teacher and Broadcast Journalism teacher are probably the only ones I like right now.
And I think part of the problem is that the system and our indoctrination made it important enough to you and your father to come in and argue for your 'A' rather than spend that time actually doing something important like learning something or playing.
My teacher gave us a test, and only six kids in the whole grade finished. She mde us turn in our unfinished tests, and the highest grade was a d+. She sid we should have been better prepared.
I don't know if anyone cares but am I the only one who loves it when there are 999 likes and you can change it to 1000?

Yes this person had an extremely shitty teacher. But am I the only one that thinks this person is probably one of the smartest students I've ever heard of? They should have been advanced to college!
Always remember, "Those who can, do. And those who can't, teach."
A lot of teachers (not all, there are some great teachers out there) are just goofballs who don't want to work and still want summers and EVERY conceivable holiday off.
