Well imagine two guys go on a train ride to Bumfuck, Nowhere. One is poor and one is rich. Obviously the rich guy rides first class and the poor guy rides coach. Of course the guy in coach will have a very uncomfortable journey, but they will still arrive at the same place.
That would only apply if they were taking the same route to their destinations, but they aren't. The life lead by the upper and even upper middle class would be utter unfathomable to those who are born in true poverty. Not only are they not in the same train, they aren't even on a train, but they are traveling on a rail cart as opposed to the Orient Express.
What's being implied is the fact that allowing equality of opportunity then forcing equality of outcome by redistributing the fruits of labor is wrong.
No no, I agree with you. My point is that using words like "real" to support one approach is designed to demean the alternative - I find that to be a dishonest way of dressing the issue.
