Give an umbrella a battery life they said, it'll be an improvement they said

Well I would imagine raindrops would get all over the lenses and equipment and it would be hard to properly capture how the machine blew away all the raindrops. It's different from the movies because that rain is on set and timed. Real rain could be soft and gentle and then erratic and windy at any given moment.
But maybe I'm overthinking it.

How about the photographer uses an umbrella?

It would only fog up if it was a lot colder than the outside temperature. So just being there for 10 minutes should do the trick.
