Kind of, but the whole concept of the tree comes from the pagan holiday... also the goal wasn't to erradicate but to absorb pagans into christianism

B-b-b. The catholic church hasn't recognised the tree as anything to do with the religion. So your point is sorta not related to my statement. And what does it mean to try and destroy another religion by getting them to join yours?

I celebrate Christmas but not Halloween because Halloween is an American thing and I live in New Zealand. Halloween here is pointless and stupid. It's like American Halloween on an extremely tight budget.

halloween is originally from Celtic, Ireland, it's not american
Halloween is a pagan holiday that celebrates death and fear. The bible says not to be afraid and that Jesus is life. So of course Christians won't celebrate Halloween.
