I'm 34 and I say "fuck" in front of my parents. Of course, they say "fuck" in front of me quite a bit. I also say "fuck" in front of my kids, but they know I don't think they're old enough to use that word yet. I recently told them they could try out "crap" and see how that goes. If they use it inappropriately, then we'll have to wait a little longer. Words aren't bad, people, they're just tools and have to be used appropriately.
How is that obvious? What did you read that I didn't? I mean, I got the impression that the son was younger than me, but I don't see anything that gives any indication as to how old he is.
My comment was in response to inyourendo, anyway, who is also 34 and has a different perspective than I do. It was more of an observation than a commentary on the original post.
Because a very popular thing for preteens to do is to insult others over the internet. You're a fully grown adult; I'd expect you to act different and more mature than how this kid does. What this kid said is basically something you'd see a kid of equal age on Family Guy say.
I'd feel awkward if I overheard that.
