Are you meaning scientific journals? Because if yes, I would agree with you. It was frustrating trying to find articles and sources for a paper, but only being able to read a paragraph of the paper because you hadn't paid $50 for a subscription.
You can satisfy your desire for science on Wikipedia also.

You're joking, right? Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, and isn't a viable source for scientific facts. You might be able to get away with using it in middle school, but if you try to pull that in college, you'll get an F.
You don't directly quote Wikipedia dude. Every article has sources listed at the bottom of the page. Think of Wikipedia as sort of an index; a starting point, if you will. You find the info you're after, verify it, and reference the sources, not Wikipedia.
