The people producing tobacco and liquor are poor. The companies are rich. Monsanto executives are rich, too.

Not true wheat and corn sells for less than tobacco. The grains that you use everyday, all the time, sell for the cheapest. Not only that but we buy 200+ acres of land, combines for 200,000 dollars, plows, semis, etc. Non stop all day everyday we work. If we have a bad rain then we dont get paid that season. Farming sucks.

What I'm trying to say is that tobacco farmers are exposed to way too much nicotine, I'm not just talking about money I'm talking about health

I'm not an expert in this stuff but from what I have seen it's kinda sad how they get exposed to so much

Have you seen a farm, even a small one? Of someone sold their farm of few acres and their equipment they would be millionaires. Farms are worth a load of money, especially if your land is in good spots

Jist because it's worth a lot does not mean it will sell for a lot

You can sell for $3000 an acre and be rich before selling the equipment

What I'm saying is. If you're selling acres or equipment you won't always get what it's worth. It's more of a get what you can get or keep it kind of thing.

$3000 is a bit below average. $2000 is still fantastic

The equipment alone is usually worth a shite load, and if you can't afford the equipment most governments will give you subsidies/aid to buy them

Equiwnt doesn't always retain value either....

That's because in some countries, some farmers supply themselves with the food they harvested. Which makes them poor because they only met their basic needs. But most farmers are not poor.

The problem is that we now think that food will never run-out, so producers have to put lower prices to keep producing and winning money rather than get more money for it

There are a LOT of very well-to-do farmers in the US.

In Spain the government decided to take out the subsidy for milk producers and they had to impose a price floor so producers didn't have to leave the market

That's a completely unfair comparison! Comparing farmers to corporations. Food corporations are also millionaires. Alcohol & tobacco is also made from ingredients gained from farming
