Congrats. I don't know your skill level, but my advice is this:
1. Go to your building area, preferably a flat LARGE space. I like to use the floor. Avoid carpets or bedding as pieces can easily get lost.
2. Open box, remove bags, loose base plates, instructions.
3. the bags are likely numbered. Put them in piles by number, any loose parts should be grouped by type (base plate etc.) in neat piles.
4. If the bags are numbered open them one at a time by bag number until you have sorted all bags of the current number sequence according to the instructions. Sort the pieces before starting, put like with like (i.e. Exact color and shapes together) in discreet piles. This will make things WAY easier when you need say 24x of a certain color 2x2 or what not. Projects like this tend to require repetitive steps with many same parts.
5. Repeat for each bag pile as needed
6. The orange thing is a brick separator. It is a tool to make taking bricks apart easier.
7. Have fun!
