1)The post says 'May 9th'.
May 9th becoming June 9th is fun because it's just a month later.
May 9th becoming September 6th is not fun.
2) There are 2 correct ways to write dates : DD-MM-YY or YY-MM-DD. The second way is used often by Chinese and Japanese for instance. So, without telling the year, the joke was still correct.
3) I'm not American. :)
