Are you making a tux? Cause that's really the only time a shawl collar is appropriate. And even then it's "a time and a place" kind of thing.

I just personally like the look of a shawl collar compared to the others, I believe it looks more put together than other kinds of lapels

I just had a suit made. Italian cut, notch lapel, two vents. The only shirt I really wear with it is a semi spread with a single button barrel cuff.
