My mom lived in one of the buildings in the first picture! I can't remember which, but she said that watching dubai grow so much in such a short period of time was wild

Except that the oil is running out real fucking quick...I wonder what the empire will look like when it's crumbling...

Dubai's economy is based on tourism - more than 90% of the citys income is based on tourist not oil. Surprise to most people.

And 1991 is wrongly dated. That is probably 81 or 82
