Tip: after your exam, tell your parents that it was really hard and that the questions were really random - even if you thought the exam was average. Rant as much as possible. Then, they will have lowered their expectations so when you get an average grade, act excited and say that though it isn't fantastic, you're really surprised because it's better than you expected. Hopefully, they will be more chill then. :D
