i always see things like this and wonder why we cant use it for cheep housing. it's there, it's stable. little work would give many families housing for next to nothing.

I think you vastly underestimate what is required for safe housing

we already have a stable foundation, electricity, sprinkler systems (for fire) and ventilation. granted there would be adjustments, but it would work. needs piping for water and waste those are extremely easy to rig. i am not saying this is an overnight job. just that it is a large space, just asking to be used. we have many vacant lots that should be turned into something useful. old hospitals and schools. that sit empty while so many people are living in the streets or going hungry so they don't lose their homes. it would be nice to help people. not as a hand out, but as cheap accommodation.
