One time I tried to buy food using my bank card, but it was declined. Turns out I'd spent all my money previously and then forgotten about it. I pretended to be shocked, and "go to the bank" to sort out the problem, but I just went home.

Happened to me too. I was buying new blankets for my horse and I calculated it all in since it was just before payday. But I forgot that my sisters dog had to visit the vet and I paid it for her. So I paid for the blankets separately with an embarassed red face.
