That's actually impossible. while it is true that some of the waves travel faster than the majority of the shaking, it is impossible for it to out pace it by 1min much less 10min. In addition thanks to advancements in technologie, we can detect the first waves and send a warning that can travel even faster. But you will only get a few seconds at best.
I used to have a cat that lived outside in my backyard, one day when I was feeding and petting it, it jolted out of nowhere and didn't come back I was so confused. About 15-20mins later one of the most massive thunderstorm struck down and we were out of power for over a week! After that day I knew when were going to have storms or rain when he wouldn't be out or when he would go run and hide. Cats are cool as hell.
