And then, I'm really terrified, because I remember "jumping spiders" are a thing that exist and the things can reach, like, face height in a single leap sometimes.

Don't worry, jumping spiders aren't as remotely dangerous as most other spiders. They would rather run away from you instead of biting, even if they did, it would do very little damage if any at all.

It's an irrational thing. I'm one of those people with a heavy adrenaline response, and I never know if it's gonna make me freeze, faint, or red out.

Friggin jumping spiders, ruining spiderness for the rest of us... "Oh look we're so tiny and cute and wear water droplets!" WELL at least I don't jump like a maniac and hypnotize my prey!!!
