So many movies ruined a good book because they skipped a lot of little parts

I found that this didn't work very well for Under the Dome. It's a Stephen King book that was turned into a show, and it ended up getting draaaggggeeddd out way too long before they finally ended it.

I don't get when people say that a movie ruins a good book, like nothing happened to the book, it's still the same. Someone who maybe hasn't read the book can enjoy the movie and someone who has read it gets at least a chance to see it as a movie whether they end up liking it or not. Sometimes the movie turns out to be better than some other time. And I don't like it when people hate on movies they don't like because it's annoying for those who love that same movie.

I wouldn't say a bad movie adaptation "ruins" the book, but it can be a major disappointment. Take Eragon for instance, one of my favorite books which I've read multiple times. When I found out there was a movie adaptation, I was so excited to see what they did with it, to see the characters in my mind come to life. But I was really disappointing to see that the only thing they really got right was the title. On it's own it's not that bad, but when compared to the book, it's a bitter disappointment. And it can be hard to hear someone say how much they love the movie while you're there thinking "Man, if only you loved to read! Then you'd really see how amazing a universe this really is!"

idk, I'm not too fond of The Magicians, it's very different from the books and I can't even watch it/enjoy it :/
