Are you saying it's wrong to buy $220 shoes? I own a pair of boot and shoes that both cost around that much.

No, it's your money you can do what you want with it. I'd prefer to have more cheaper shoes and other people would like a few brand name ones.
What my point is that of you're trying to help the environment it makes sense to have a more affordable option. Not everyone wants to drop $220 on a pair of shoes but if you're trying to help the environment you shouldn't make it so only better off people can help out.
