If you do ever drink, just PLAN AHEAD. Do not bring your car if you are going to drink. Don't get in the car with someone who was drinking. It seems like common sense but I still know people who drink and drive.

By the end I was already thinking: OKAY I GET IT. But seriously guys, learn from this video please.
In addition to the terrible toll inflicted on the families of victims and perpetrators, this takes a toll on the first responders. I'm a firefighter and ex EMT (let my license expire) and I've seen enough pain and suffering to last a lifetime...and my stories pale in comparison to some of my fellow FF's. The stuff of nightmares.
I could mostly deal with the blood and such, what always got to me was the screaming. Either from pain or anguish. I can still hear that woman wailing one late night after dropping a patient off at the hospital. It was quiet and I was putting fresh sheets on the stretcher and in one of the rooms I heard the most tortured scream. I had to leave and finish outside.
Sorry for rambling. Please don't drink and drive. Even if you don't care about your own safety your actions are far reaching and long lasting to so many others.
