Actually the British created the system we use according to how earths axis is turned. We're not backwards, the north and south hemispheres just experience opposite seasons at the same time. Natural not man made

that Americans are backwards because they're cyclones, toilets and (I think) tornadoes spin ANTI-clockwise, making them the backwards ones. sorry if I offended anyone! =)
