Cool, but it's just like any other polymer (bio-degradable or not): If it's too brittle, it will not do a whole lot of good. You will have to add plasticizers to them, and these are also very harmful to the environment (think phthalates--sometimes up to 50 wt%)

I dont care if it turns out to be useful. The world needs more people that can take something ridiculous and turn it into reality.

NaOH, HCl, and ethanoic acid. Imagine all the problems from working with and disposing those. Kinda does away with whatever benefits the biodegradable plastic brings.

Why would they reveal how it's made to the public though? They could have sold this idea for so much money to a willing company.
