I don't remember where I read that, but basically Picasso WANTED to draw like a kid.
Ignoring rules, ignoring "logic", just drawing with feelings.

Not saying you have to enjoy it, but it helps understand it better I think.
Also, with the constant improvements in photography during his life, Picasso saw no reason to paint things as they can be seen every day, but sought to show their essence. A common explanation of his images is showing what something looks like from every angle simultaneously, and I find this is like the quantum mechanics of painting: most people don't understand it, but it is (for all of its oddity) impressive in its own way.

Could have used this for one of those enlightenment memes
I mean there were probably plenty of artists who did realism as he did so I understand why he would want to shake up the art style. It gets boring when everyone is doing accurate portraits of everyone
