Last time I was this hyped for a spiderman movie was with the Raimi trilogy, so I'm definitely going to try and watch it on the release date.

I never really liked the new Spiderman ever since Toby McGuire was replaced. Feel like I should at least give it shot. Anything to watch before this film?

Captain America: Civil War if you just want to know about Spidey. If you want to really know more about the universe he's in and the characters within it, I suggest you see every MCU Marvel movie since Iron Man 1
