So I thought this was the case but then I went to the doctor and it turns out I really do have depression.

I'm self diagnosing myself with what I call conditional depression. It's where I have so much shit to do I mentally can't handle it so I just let it crush me.

I self diagnose because I like feeling bad about myself, not for attention or medication or any sort of benefit.

self diagnosing is ok, but only if you follow it up with a licensed professional. i have a lot of pain all the time, sometimes my skin hurts. my body would lock up and was depressed. my wife, while watching tv, connected that i had fibromyalgia. i got a referral to a rheumatologist, got x-rays and blood work and was diagnosed. i now have the prescriptions and am doing much better. if you don't go and get checked out your diagnosis means nothing and will not get better, it may even get worse. on top of that the problems you are dealing with may be underlining a much bigger problem that you don't know about.

now rereading the string i see that you may be joking around, but i want my point to still stand. to many people say they have one thing and they don't. it isn't good for them or anyone around them.

sometimes it is a vitamin deficiency. after looking through my blood work i found i had a b12 deficiency (that for some reason my doctor ignored). started to take supplements and magically my depression went away. well for the most part. a few times i will still slip, but it is a stark difference. try it, the worse thing that could happen is that you get more vitamins. also check b-complex, many don't include b12. so a b-complex may not be a substitute to b12. it worked for me, so it is worth a try. give it a month. i have fibromyalgia (actual diagnosis) and it causes depression, the pills didn't help on it's own, so it may even help in that regard if you happen to have fibromyalgia as well. not sure if any of that is connected, just figure i'd add since it might help someone.

be careful, to much D could give you kidney stones. about 2000 units should do.
