If you don't want homeless people don't try to run them out, actually help them not be homeless anymore. If they have issues that caused it, send them to rehab or something. Or if they need a job or something help them out cause obviously something failed somewhere.
It is not always that "simple" of a solution. Those with true mental issues may refuse help or medication. There are those who actively choose to be homeless (as a result of mental issues) then to accept help from family, friends, shelters, government.....
...it's their own property? So why do they bother? Aren't they the same as guests/church visitors? Who the hell even cares, who would get angry about something that much that he informs the government?

Without having read the article my guess would be people in the surrounding area were upset that the church was helping people they didn't want around their neighborhood so they complained. Gonna try and find the article though.
Wait who fined them? why ? Aren't Churches god's place? Doesn't god love people who don't possess a wooden frame built over a piece of land to provide safety from external agents? Does God check their house papers or something? Do people have to show proof that they aren't homeless to the father there? What the actual fuck USA, I don't get how you work
Well even though they're " houses of God " they still have to abide by the law. If they're being too loud they get told to stop or if they are doing illegal activities the law does go after them. While I don't agree with them being fined for letting homeless people sleep on their property, if there was a law against it they'd have to abide by it.
I think more of the letting people sleep on the property outside is the issue ? They probably got them on some nuisance thing like if your neighbors had some wrong shit in their yard

I guess. I just don't like how they're being treated
Oh yeah no definitely people are being dicks and they weren't hurting anyone. I'm just saying people will use anything to get their way, even laws no one remembers on the books.
Some one posted the article above and it shows why they were cited, none of the really have anything to do with homeless people but they got in trouble for "non permitted rooming and boarding" and "using the exterior as a housing unit" so more like city housing ordinances got them into trouble. The article also says the won't have to pay the fine if they evict the homeless people, pretty sad hopefully the town has a homeless shelter for them.
