Their CEO is an insensitive asshat that doesn't know how to apologize, defends and backs up his employees abusing cusomers illegally.
Last week, they illegally kicked a white guy out of first class without compensation or reimbursement after threatening him with handcuffs. They re-accommodated him between an arguing couple whose marriage was failing... for a six hour flight.
Then there was that leggings bullshit a short while back.
Before that, I personally got the run around just trying to check in. Turns out, their partner carriers are also named United and I had to go to three different counters before I found the "right" one.
The last one tried to tell me that I might make my flight because I was checking in late. I told him that:
"The reservation online gives no indication to a partner carrier and there's three counters in this airport all named the same. That's intentional obfuscation. My company books thousands of flights a year and if I miss this one there's going to be a problem because I'm expected on the jobsite tonight. I will report this to my home office travel coordinator if I'm not on this flight."
I made the flight. I reported it anyway and I don't think any of our people flew United again. I sure as shit didn't.
These are just the ones we know about. Given how shitty they are, there's probably thousands more. I want to see them fail and go bankrupt.

Two hears ago, Nobel Prize winning economist and Yale University professor Robert Shiller and his wife while on the way to a conference in Aspen were kicked off a plane, from first class after boarding. They were apparently singled out because their tickets were bought through a travel website and paid a lower fare.

The update to the story is that he is on fact suing United. He got a concussion, has no memory of getting back on the plane after they removed him, missing two teeth, and requires reconstructive surgery
