Yeeeessssssss. Amd mental health. So, I would say. Mental ilness = no guns. I grew up with a gun in my house so I don't hate guns. But less crazies with guns is prevention.
1. Disorders are different than illness.
2. For example, My husband could have a gun to protect us. I have depression. I wouldn't kill me or anyone and I Know that but since I suffer from depression I wouldn't expect anyone to believe me. Some people have guns in safes away from kids and orher family members to prevent certain things.
3. Like I said i don't hate guns. People are the problem. But I don't see the problem of not letting people with mental illnesses to own guns specially if thereis a history of violence. Seems pretty common sense in those cases.

As someone with adhd, I can confidently say that you could trust me 100 percent with a gun.
I would probably be the perfect hunting partner if I may say so myself.
It's when it goes unmanaged that it really becomes dangerous in my experience.
I also wouldn't even call it a disorder, just a different way of processing our environment.
I'm not talking shit about ADHD, I'm actually doing the opposite.
ADHD is considered a mental illness in many circles, so by maria's criteria, you'd lose the right to own a gun.
I was arguing against that.
I've been diagnosed with high functioning schizophrenia. I have a full time job, I've never been arrested, never even gotten a speeding ticket...yet that's considered a mental illness even though I'm not considered a risk to myself or others...would I still be able to buy a gun?
Damn, sorry to hear about that. That shit's insane.
Someone close to me who I won't name began suffering from schizophrenia after trying the wrong drug.
He didn't end up losing any of his guns and I think he can actually still buy some now.
So I'm thinking you're good to go.
I will also say that he is recovering very well and I hope that the same can happen for you.
Well, like I saiid. I know I can handle a gun. But i would understand why some people might think I wouldn't. We know we have it controlled but other people at risk think so too. I am pro guns but also pro control. To me control is not a ban. It's like a car. We can all own a car but we have to pass a test to use it and have a permit renewed every year. Will something like that mean total a total stop to shootings. I don't think so. But a reduced number of them yeah. It's better than nothing
I grew. In Montana and learned to shoot at 13. Even before then I watched the Eddy Eagle safety videos. I was taught never to be afraid of guns but rather be knowledgeable about their danger. That's what I think we should do rather than prevent people from buying guns
Exactly. I mean I still believe that IF you can prove some people shouldn't own a gun they shouldn't get a permit. People think gun contel is total removal. I don't see it like that. @jmvail would you feel comfortable anyone getting a gun without knowing about safety like you do? It's like a person drving with no lisence test first.
I feel that we need more education to children and adults because a gun is a tool. Think about it, cars kill a lot more people than guns but we are trained to use them properly. I also think that being afraid of a weapon like how schools won't even let kids use finger guns only makes guns more dangerous. Fear is powerful
Uhhhh.... A) I grew up in the South and three of my cousins have been shot. Pretty sure the South ain't innocent. B) You want people to "understand the value of life," they're gonna need a life worth living first. I have danced with despair a lot, and let me tell you, unless you are HARD trained to assume others have more value than you, no one looks like they're worth much.
the problem with this is that people dont give a fuck. like at all. people are garbage period, and you can take guns from them but theyre still going to find a way to hurt ohers. fucking pressure cooker bomb for example.

I appreciate your support, I really do.
