the beauty IN them? i mean if thats what you want then we should hold beauty contests with the contestants behind walls. i get what you mean but makeup doesnt affect inner beauty. more like no makeup so we can see what they really LOOK like.

I don't agree. If women want to go to pageants and doll themselves up a lot, let them. The only issue I have is when they make their kids do it because they did/wanted to do it as a kid or just because. Kids shouldn't be subject to the stress of pageants or anything that competitive in my opinion.

Fake boobs, fake butts, capped teeth, liposuction. 50 lbs of war paint and god knows what else. Seems legit to me.

It's weird how there's different standards to beauty across the world. Western perspectives really embrace 'natural' beauty, and are a lot more centred embracing different types of beauty and trying to be more natural. They tend to see make up or plastic surgery as fake or a lie. However, in eastern cultures it's a lot more about 'fixing' beauty - that beauty is attainable and you can work towards becoming more beautiful. To them, plastic surgery is a common way to make yourself more attractive, and it isn't deceitful. Soz as for the long comment just wanted to spout these thoughts!

This post is an excellent example of why beauty pagents are so fucked up.

Just another way to make money while entertaining. I have no interest in watching that stuff but if it's not hurting anyone, more power to them.

By perpetuating a culture of shallow obsession over physical appearance. Don't get me wrong, being attractive is all well and good, but this obsession of it to the exclusion of all else is seriously damaging. Addditionally, I personally am fundamentally opposed to the idea of contests of qualities you have little to no control over.

so... you want to take out the aspect of make up, but leave in the swim suit portion? Cause let me guess, makeup is fake beauty but a thin waist, large breasts and a perfect figure is real, true beauty aaaaaaawwww k.

Meh, I don't really see including their makeup skills in what they're judged on as a bad thing. It takes a lot of work to get good at makeup, especially stage makeup that looks good under bright lights.

Why don't we get the syringes and take out collagen ....fake cheek bones , lips ,tits ....Nobody even looks at that anymore anyways ....it's 2017. decade of all sorts of inclusions .have you seen miss Oslo ?! She looks like a monkey (I mean ugly as a butt ,don't mean anything racist) but in spirit of inclusion we picked the ugliest uggo .What's next ? Bearded fat legless miss .Just cancel the whole thing ,if you think Barbi is offensive .
