The mark just above their eyes in the middle, looks like a M, is almost identical if not the exact same. They are probably real bros.

One appears to be short haired and the other medium haired, though, but does that mean anything?

The M shape is a signature of all Tabby cats. Mine has the same thing (though she is a gray haired not an orange)
