It was after what we call El Porfiriato where this guy called Porfirio Díaz stayed as a president for 30 years, Francisco I. Madero, ran a anti-reelection campaign, he was trying to stop Díaz to be another 6 years as president from México. After Madero won, he was elected president trying to have a democratic way in México trying to help as much as he could to the small towns and stuff, but it wasn't enough for them and he wasn't doing what people really wanted so a farmer called Emiliano Zapata lead an uprising and Pascual Orozco lead a rebelion (those were only a couple of things that happened). Then they killed this guy Madero who was the president and his vice president also. So Lascuráin took the power for that 45 minutes and named Victoriano Huerta as government secretary, who later became the mexican president for like a year... (hope you understand all of it) :D
