When you punch, whatever you hit hits your fist back. Things like a face or hips with protruding sharp bone can really hurt the puncher even with proper technique. Those beanie kitty chubnubbers right there are like natural boxing gloves, letting you hit harder longer without injuring your bones. A bigger person carries more weight around, imagine walking around with 100-200+lbs of weight strapped to your body all day 365. Even without lifting many bigger folks have more strength and because of the momentum of extra weight can often hit like a train. I had a coworker with hands like that. They felt super soft to the touch but so do boxing gloves.

So many thing wrong with your statement...where to start? A street fight is not just fists and whoever does damage faster wins. Worrying about hurting their hands are not on a fighters mind and a bony fist will deal much more damage then a fat one. Fat moves around, bones hits solid, chub's punches will absorb more energy when striking leading to a diminished blow. Like brass knuckles vs. mittins. People of large stature are often stronger, but have much lower endurance, speed and stamina. The only real advantage is they can take more damage before going down, but if you can keep out of reach from their "freight train", they will very quickly wear themselves out (watch UFC for demonstrations). Boxing gloves are hard, like dense foam wrapped tightly in thick leather hard. Some boxing gloves are even packed tight with horse hair. Nothing soft about that. In a head-to-head fight against anyone with basic fighting skills, the fat man will go down and get the shit stomped out of him.

People write whole books and dedicate their lives to fighting. I'm not here to teach you how or school you in physics or anatomy, let alone unarmed combat. I do not have your UFC viewing experience, in this fight he is obviously using fists, so other techniques are not germane. Bigger people have mass behind them, many know how to fight, and they don't move like cartoons comically lumbering while you circle them for the most part. Most people lack UFC level conditioning and will find if they punch a cinderblock full force it hurts much like bone. "Boxing gloves" was an analogy for people who may not have your UFC credentials. I don't actually think his hands Velcro to his body either. My point remains unchanged often big people are more dangerous than most think. If you doubt that there's a 270lb bouncer friend that I could direct you to his bar to onserve your theories no action Hes aware he lacks stamina so like most real fights His are over (win or lose) before he's out of gas.
