Ya can keep your foot on the clutch pedal while driving, thus not fully engaging the clutch disk. This will cause the disk to "burn up" really quickly, cause it's not fully seated on the flywheel. Or you don't time the clutch and throttle just right an that can also cause the disk to go out prematurely.
