you can do like anything with javascript this days, there's nothing you can't do (okay, some stuff.. :P )..you even can now compile assembler/C/C++/C# sourcecode to javascript (webasm).. it's really powerfull. there are even guys who coded emulators in javascript etc. :) it's a great scripting language, and it's really fun^^

Are you asking which compiler we are using? Notepad isn't really good coding software and it depends on each language but if you are using anything with C (c#/C++ etc) I can recommend code::blocks

I was being sarcastic. Any IDE or decent text editor would be able to detect a syntax error.

for scripting i use Notepad++. For scripting it's imho a really nice IDE :) for other stuff i use different IDEs like Eclipse for Android Development (Java). i would use android studio, but my laptop is to slow and old for it.. so i need to use eclipse ^^*
