Recap of humanity

The older you get the more things change. At a point they change faster than you can cope and suddenly the world is a strange scary place. In your familiar memory things seem simpler, with hindsight it looks like things were so easy. The bad times and danger are so far away and you've had time to process it all so they seem less severe than you thought at the time. Why do you think people say high school or college are "the best times of your life" but when you ask a student they often scoff at the idea? People seek the familiar, and the younger generation always looks at the older and says "that won't be me," yet these are the complaints of youngers for the last several hundred years at least. Maybe you'll be the first to break the cycle. I hope so, there's no growth without change and we need to grow a better world for everyone.
