Not a case of wanting a job. It is for many people a necessity. It's a trade, service for money. Perhaps both sides should be grateful. The employee for being given an opportunity to earn money and the employer for the skills that their staff are willing to give to the company.
No doubt the employer should be greatful as well. I disagree about the necessity part though, in th sense that it's these poor people's last resort to take care of themselves. Or that somehow "society" has failed to take care of them so if they want food and shelter they're forced to go perform a service in exchange for money.
.
That mind set would suggest that everyone deserves to be taken care of. If thats true, who's left to take care of everyone?
I think everyone does deserve to be taken care of. However society (tax payers) cannot afford to do it. Food and shelter are a necessity and to be able to get those things you have to work. So, working is necessity.
