You realize that Americans are taught to use the metric system when it comes to science and chemistry in particular, yes? This came about because people at NASA were stupid.

Children's series. I read them in elementary and middle school, and would skip the pages where he'd ramble so I could get back to the story.
The books were amazing. Olaf was a douche but I got the feels for him at the end. The writing style is totally different from what I enjoy today but I put a large portion of my love of reading with it - actually the first real book I remember reading is The Reptile Room.
