Well, right when I landed in Kansai, I had to take a night bus to go in Kyoto, we weren't much in it, and there was a group of salary men about 25yo, they asked me if I was french, I said yes and they offered me beer and food just because I was french lol, and when we got off the bus one of them invited me to his house and I met his wife and all
When I was in a hostel down under, one of our roomates was so drunk he pissed in the fridge where everyone kept their food.
Also I wanted to try couchsurfing there for the first time, met up with the guy and found out he doesn't have a flat, only two tents in the forest. Well, silly me can't say no, so I stayed for three days.
And in one of the hundreds of hostels in Brisbane my friend and I actually met a classmate of ours.
Also when it was time for me to fly back home from Sydney to Frankfurt, I arrived in Sydney in the evening, my flight going in the morning. And I thought "no problem, just gonna sleep at the airport". Little did I know Sydney airport closes at night because the flights go over the city. Now there I was, with all my belongings from 4 months on my back, no money left, making my way back to the town (2km) by foot. And well I got lost. One of the women who worked at the terminal saw me wandering about and took me home for the night. I got to know her husband and daughters, had dinner with them, my own bed and TV for the night, and in the morning she even packed me lunch and drove me back to the airport.
This year I went to Peru, to the coast, and all of our guides were telling us about how terrible El Niño is and how it destroyed civilisations. Two weeks after we left, it started to rain, a El Niño came... In Peru, in the coast, it literally only rains when El Niño comes, and it comes every 20 years, so imagine the force of the water and all the destruction it caused. We were saved by two weeks.
