There are some things that let you know it's not real, but it's still pretty impressive that he is getting better

I'm amazed at how the 19 year-old managed to achieve that texture under the eye; it's pretty hard to get various textures with colored pencil and they're pretty tedious to use as well.

And? With enough time anything can be done. Both the colors look to be of extremely high quality - the kind where every pencil costs $30 and I don't even want to imagine the cost of the gel pens.

Art without meaning is no art. It's just aesthetics and quite useless.
