*sigh* Oh boy another meme of self diagnosed depression it's not you see those all the time now like being "depressed" and having "anxiety" are cool and normal, and yes I know they're real I'm saying if you're just following everyone else and/or making memes it might be for attention or to whine about some minor inconveniences
I've been diagnosed as having depression and been medicated for it three times. Probably should be now as well.
I can guarrenfuckingtee that the 250+ pages I've written in the past couple months, I would not have been able to write had I been in a good state of mind. I'm almost glad that I lost my job and a recent... "distraction" turned out to be a flash in the pan.
Those people you talk about? Yeah, fuck those people... but don't always assume that's the case.
I'm just saying it's all the memes and such these days like it's a social norm now instead of a legitimate condition and it sucks to see people undermine it because they think being sad about some stuff for a while means depression
oh well. deal with it. as society evolves, so does humor. as long as the people you care about know that something’s wrong when you’re acting all reserved and sad and lonely, and they’re trying to help you, then that’s good. it’s as simple as that. How does the opinions of strangers on the internet regarding depression affect you? and why do you let it affect you?
also, looking back, I think a lot of people use "depression" as a means of personifying stress in the world. I would assume that the majority of them do not even mean it literally, they're saying it as a joke. I can see why you'd be offended by that; but my sister went through depression and I personally don't have a problem with these jokes. I know I'm not depressed, but I do use it as a scapegoat sometimes. It's like combining different instances of stress: schoolwork, a job, classmates, relationship issues, friendship issues, family issues, etc. It's easier to put all of these things under a big umbrella labelled "depression" for the jokesters of today than individually say all of them. that's the way i think a majority of people work and think and operate, which is why depression in this context has such a joking atmosphere about it. However, I personally don't see any problems with having one "context" of depression for this and the other for a serious mental disorder in (cont)
which someone is feeling incredibly sorrowful or unhappy beyond usual measure or words, something which cannot easily be likened to. that's just how humor is. these are all just jokes.
