You can also show a picture of a Middle Eastern man missing a limb and burying his family members with the caption "I thought I had it rough...then I heard men in America had to put up with women making use of their constitutional rights to say stuff they didn't agree with."
You are right, Dan. Many men in the US *can't* handle opposing views. I see it most often with college age "men" who can't tolerate non-PC opinions from women who think that abortion is murder or that Hillary wasn't a good choice for US President. Or from female taxpayers who, against all PC principles, don't think the the federal government has the responsibility to,provide everyone with health insurance or "free" college. Some of those "men" even need "safe spaces" where they don't have to hear those horrific opinions.
Yes we have abuse here in America but you have options. In civilized country's if your boyfriend smacks you around you have options you can leave him or contact law enforcement if you get raped you can call the police. The women in these shit hole country's can't do that they are property to there husbands. And if they report a rape its there fault and can be kill because of it.this is why I don't have very much sympathy for woman that stay in abusive relationships they have options leave the POS call the cops leave and buy a gun for protection and so on, woman in other country's can't even imagine the actions woman in America can take.
Nobody is saying that any abuse is ok since someone has it worse elsewhere. In the west, there are assaults, but it's against the law and the perpetrators will be punished. In Islamic countries, it's ok for family honor. Has everyone forgotten the women who were stoned to death for being raped? The photo even has the caption pointing out the comparison to having to hear opposing viewpoints...NOT comparison to other abuse.
I can't believe people missed the point so bad, when it's even part of the damn caption. But it does serve to demonstrate the trigger warning: Rock some people's world a little and they go full batshit on you. "Point out that in some countries women can be attacked with non consequence? You must think that rape is ok in the US."
I will never understand this standard. A person/group/nation etc. should have no reason to better themselves or their quality of life simply because someone else somewhere has it worse? This makes no sense. That's like a a victim of domestic violence taking a picture saying " I thought I had it bad until I found out some people get cheated on". Like, fuck you and your problems with infidelity, if you're not being beat up, shut up and like it. It's absurd.
One person/group/nation should not be expected to cease bettering their own lives or situation just because someone else has it worse. You should always strive for progress and betterment in all cases/ situations and help others in need ( whether it be better, worse or the same as your own) to the best of your ability SIMULTANEOUSLY.
Obviously, the OP posted this in disregard to civility towards woman wanting equal rights in the US, but I'm speaking towards the sane people in the comments, not the OP.
Exactly. That's like those who think it is sensible to say to people with depression (regardless of the reason) "You shouldn't be depressed, there are people who are worse off than you." As if the suffering of that person doesn't matter one iota. It makes as much sense as "you shouldn't be happy, there are people way better off than you".
Okay western women let settle for to be the second best thing, at least we aren't get beaten up.. not.
According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, women experience about 4.8 million intimate partner-related physical assaults and rapes every year.4 Less than 20 percent of battered women sought medical treatment following an injury.5
So is also happening in the us, educated yourself
Do women in the U.S also get bathed on acid because they disobeyed their husband? Yeah, i thought about it, there are a lot of pics of women that were thrown acid at their heads not just for the same reason, btw, women on countries like that tend to be just a mere toy, they can't see any other man, they can't express their opinions.
I just think guest was trying to point out that many women (and men) in the US still deal with domestic abuse just as this woman, and that opposing views is not all American women face. No, you dont hear of many stories where women's faces are doused in acid in America, but domestic violence is domestic violence. In both situations, and all levels of severity, its not ok.
No shit.
