Not all dogs but some view it as them being restrained because they're little dumb angels

Some anxious dogs actually really like to be hugged, that's the same reason why some dogs use shirts, they feel cuddled

Some like it because they like cuddles, some hate it because they think it's you showing your dominance over them.
