I don't now maybe because after the American rev. we wanted to change our lifestyle from the british, and we included the metric system

I forget what time period I think the late 1800's or early 1900's they were going to change to metric system but it would be to costly every product would need new labels every road sign and it would just be to costly and would take over many years for the change to be complete. That being said that's why we don't use the metric system

In middle school our science teacher would use the metric system and the shop class teacher would inches and stuff. It was so confusing switching between classes, since they would yell at us for using the wrong units x3
