wtf we just have 2 nobs for 1 faucet that way you can just put half and half and reach a luke warm temperature.

In Victorian times, the hot and the cold water were in two different containers, needing two taps for each one. They kept this tradition

Umm...it's really not that common anymore. Most places have one faucet for cold and hot.

I must be a victorian because my hot comes from the emersion heater and cold comes from the mains... It's a pain, half of the time I just use cold water to avoid being burned

I still don't understand the hot tap/cold tap thing. How do you use those? I mean, do you move your hands back and forth real quick between the two to get them decently clean without scalding off your skin, or do you fill the sink with the mixed water to wash your hands or what?

Well, here it's two taps and one faucet, I've never personally seen two faucets. I think if I was anywhere that had two I'd probably have to fill the sink halfway to not burn my hands.
