One of my absolute favorite scenes is still when Michael realizes Erin looks up to him like a father. Instead of being weird, teasing, or making fun of her for it when he realizes what's happening, he immediately takes on the pretend role and try's to give Erin what she's always wanted in a strong father figure. Erin is my favorite character because she's been through a lot, but never thinks horribly of the people that wrong her. She even loves her parents after they put into foster care and refuses to think badly of them.
And I'm finding about about this now, after the completion of the show. Here I thought it was just some wierd absurdist humor sort of thing.
I had no idea there was genuine drama in it.
